La Vallée des tortues is a zoological park located in Sorède, in the heart of the Albères. It presents more than thirty species of aquatic and terrestrial turtles: giants of the Seychelles and Galapagos, alligator, soft shell … each has its own way to beat the hare! The park is also home to other wild animals: meerkats, armadillos, snakes, marmosets, Australian immersion aviary, vivarium … New for 2021: the park highlights the furrowed turtles and dangerous turtles. Every day the park offers entertainment included in the entrance fee: feeding turtles, meerkats and marmosets, guided tours, presentation of lizards and snakes and many others. The park offers a walk in the forest, a games and relaxation area, a snack bar and picnic areas in the park. It also welcomes visitors for special birthday or day care packages.
The Turtle Valley offers visitors the opportunity to discover many animal species but also the different plant species cultivated along the route and in the animal parks. Visitors can discover these species on their own thanks to the various educational materials or by following a guide during the many activities or guided tours. A photographic exhibition on the fauna and flora of the Albères also opens your eyes to the nature of the surroundings.
