Housed in an old traditional farmhouse, the Maison de la Vallée is an active showcase for the natural and cultural heritage of the Cerdan area.
Working in partnership with the local nature reserve, with the bird migration observation spot, with the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Nature Park and many other actors, the Maison de la Vallée is a constantly evolving space for discovery.
You can discover: an educational garden, a virtual visit of the nature reserve and photo exhibitions;
find: various information and a shop selling local products; and take part in some of its themed activities to discover the heritage.
At the back of the old farmhouse “Cal Martinet”, a stone’s throw from the National Nature Reserve of the Eyne Valley, the educational garden of the Maison de la Vallée presents some of the most emblematic species of flora of the eastern Pyrenees. The contemplative, sensory and educational experience of the site will allow you to enjoy a good moment of discovery while having the opportunity to open your eyes to the basics of botany, the biodiversity of the species present in the garden or even participatory science.
Discovering the riches of the natural world is by far the best way to ensure their protection. The nature reserve and the valley house are associated to present some of them to you in a bucolic and playful way.
