Walking the Paths of Exile

Walking through the different routes of exile, we will discover the landscapes that keep the memory of hundreds of thousands of people who crossed the Pyrenees fleeing the Civil War. The Paths of Exile will offer us a different point of view of this mountain range: border for a while, but twinning the population on both sides. From Ripollès to Alt Empordà, passing through La Garrotxa, we will discover these paths full of human stories, surrounded by lush nature. We will follow the footsteps of President Lluís Companys and many others who sought refuge. Camprodon Exile Museum, Exile Memorial Museum, Argelès Refugee Camp and Elna Maternity Hospital, visits that will tell us what it meant to the population, and the best collection of the still-living history of ‘this country.
