Thémis Solaire Innovation (département Des P.o)
Located in the commune of Targasonne, at an altitude of 1600m, Thémis Solaire Innovation is the result of a conversion to give back to this former solar power plant its original vocation: research and development of new technologies for the production of solar energy. During these openings during school holidays or outside by reservation (groups), TSI offers activities aimed at raising awareness of the general public to the energy transition.
Free access: Exhibitions “Understanding energy”, “Sun, myths and realities”, “History of solar energy in the P.O.”, “Astro Themis”, “Fab Lab” solar construction workshop (excluding the price of the solar kit).
Paying activities: Operation of current projects, History of the site, “didacsol” playful models.

Visit to Themis Solaire Innovation
During the whole month of July and August, the old power plant can be visited, where you can learn about its history, its operation, and also discover many other unique installations. You can also take the opportunity to visit other emblematic energy sites, such as the Mont-Louis Solar Furnace, the Bouillouses Dam, or the outdoor exhibition at the Grand Four Solaire d’Odeillo.
Themis is open to the public every day from 5 July to 29 August 2021. The exhibitions are open to the public free of charge from 10am to 5.30pm, and guided tours of the site are offered at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm (price: 5€)
