A Pyrenees tour that will make you discover it’s flavors and magnificent places by driving a few kilometers with your own car. The Pyrenees on both sides are going to offer to you many landscapes and cultural resources from all eras, from the Middle Ages going throw the Civil War up to the now a days. This amazing itinerary will introduce the traveler to local products such as cheese and high altitude wine as well as nowadays lifestyle Pyrenean life, staying in hotels that give special importance to put their guests in touch with the local reality of the Mountains. Visits to manor houses, cathedrals, bunkers, citadels, abbeys and charming villages are an important example of the richness of this territory in between mountains.
This itinerary of 3 nights and 4 days is offered as a completed experience with half board and all visits included and pre-booked, so that you make the most of the time and kilometers traveled by the Pallars Sobirà, l ‘Alt Urgell, La Cerdanya, Haute Cerdagne and Le Conflent. Although it is presented from the Catalan side, it is also possible to do it in the opposite direction: from France to Catalonia.

Schedule and duration

DAY 1 – Arrival by car in Esterri d’Àneu: visit to the Ecomuseum of the Valls d’Àneu. At the afternoon: Visit El Batlliu Winery with tasting of 4 wines and visit to the Tros de Sort cheese factory with tasting of 7 cheeses. 1 night with half board Hotel & SPA Pessets 4 ****
DAY 2 – Breakfast at the hotel and departure to pass the port of Cantó and arrive at La Seu d’Urgell to visit the Cathedral and the micro cheese factory l’Abadessa, with a tasting of 4 cheeses. At the afternoon visit of the Bunkers of Martinet and Montellà. Arrival at Saillegouse to sleep at the Hotel Planes 3 ***.
DAY 3 – Breakfast at the hotel and departure to visit the Musee de Cerdagne in Sainte Leocadie (45 min) and the Citadel of Mont-Louis to end with a visit to the Cal Rous de Planès cheese factory. At the afternoon visit of the Benedictine abbey of Sant Martí del Canigó (1 hour). Arrival and accommodation at the Grand Hotel de les Thermes in Molitg-les-Bains.
DAY 4 – Breakfast and end of the itinerary with the possibility of stopping and visiting the most beautiful villages in France: Vilafranca de Conflent, Èvol and Eus.
