The Pyrenees are an imposing geographical barrier, yet this has not impeded a strong historical, economic, and cultural connection between the north of Catalunya and the Southern France.

The Grand Tour Epiremed aims to reinforce this bond between these two very different –and yet very similar– lands, twinned by history. From the Pyrenees of Girona to Côte Vermeille, Vallespir, and Roussillon, and back to Catalan lands, this 12-days-long trans-Pyrenean journey shows us unbelievable corners of Catalunya and Southern France.

Medieval villages filled with history, volcanic landscapes, craggy coasts, hillsides covered by vineyards, magnificent monuments –both natural and architectural–, outdoor and adventure activities, gastronomy… These lands have an inexhaustible tourist offer, and this tour offers you an assorted sample of it for all tastes. There’s no way to get bored, there aren’t two identical places or stages!

The Grand Tour Epiremed takes us, by car, to 17 lovely towns, each with its particular attractions, which offer many different things to discover. Charming towns with great historical legacy, and unique natural spaces as the Volcanic Area of Garrotxa, the Orgues d’Ille, or the Canalettes Caves. And countless proposals for cultural and outdoor activities!

Schedule and duration

The experience lasts for 12 days and 11 nights. You should consider the following timings:

On the first day, you’ll be expected in Ripoll in the evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On the second day, you should arrive in Vall de Núria in the morning, to visit the Sanctuary. In the evening, you’ll be expected to arrive in Camprodon for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 3, you’ll be expected in Besalú in the afternoon, for a tour around the medieval town. In the evening, you must be in Banyoles to check-in at the lodging and to have dinner.
On day 4, you’ll be expected in Cadaqués by evening, to check-in at the lodging.
On day 5, you’ll be expected in Collioure by evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 6, you’ll be expected in Perpignan by evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 8, you’ll be expected in Prades by evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 9, you’ll be expected in Les Angles by evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 10, you’ll be expected in La Seu d’Urgell by evening, for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
On day 11, you should arrive in Organyà in the morning, for the canyoning activity. In the evening, you must be in Gósol for the check-in at the lodging and dinner.
