Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, the Epiremed region witnessed one of the most important transformations in human history: The Industrial Revolution. In just a few decades, traditional economic, human and social landscapes took a big leap forward into modern times…
Today the industrial heritage circuit invites you to discover and learn about the valuable legacy of the memories left behind from a not so far-off past. You will find hundred-year old factories, mines where raw materials were extracted, industrial colonies where our great grandparents lived and interacted, and power plants that stood for revolutionary progress. This circuit is a witness to how technology, entrepreneurship, and human sacrifice came together to dominate nature, make progress and organise a new society.
To understand the past is to build a better future. Through an educational approach and first-hand experiences, the industrial heritage circuit will give you the keys you need to understand the moment in history that changed forever the face of relationships, consumption and time.
